Get Well Scotty McLeod

I could have titled this "adversity shows how small our world truly is".

I had no idea that so many of my friends, acquaintances, MVPs and Microsoft staff are also friends with Scotty McLeod - until he got hit by a train last week.

He is recovering, and I hope to see him sitting up and arguing the toss with me when I visit the UK in a couple of weeks.

Until then, I'm left amazed at how many familiar names pop up when I search for "Get Well" and "Scotty McLeod".

Here's hoping he's quickly on the mend.

Hi Everybody,

My brother Malcolm (aka Scotty to the rest of you) is in the Brodie High Dependency ward at St Georges Hospital, south west London.

He is opening his eyes for long periods at a time and moving various limbs, but he is obviously tired out by it all. He is making a real effort to see what is going on. He’s still very weak on the right side, although today he was moving his right foot so the feeling must be returning to that side.

Visiting hours are Mornings 11AM-1PM and Evenings 3-8PM. My family and I will accommodate other visitors - the key is to get as many of you as possible to attend and visit Scotty - now is the time to show solidarity and visit you friend. Keep the tech support questions to a minimum and Scotty reserves the right not to answer due to his tracheotomy!

If you need any more information then contact either Jan (see above) or me on 07792 873280 (don’t email me as I’m don’t have push enabled in this country).

Scotty might be moving in as little as one week for his rehabilitation but I will post as/when/if that happens.

Murdo McLeod.

Thanks for the update - I'll be in the UK in a little over a week, and I'll find some time during that week to drop in on Scotty.
