November 2005 - Posts
First thanks to Chris for posting this. Think I should have? (I think so, I am an
Xbox MVP...hmph) :P
Anyways, head over Chris's blog. He has a short except from a Teamxbox.com article and a link to that article, which is the guide..
Thanks again chris, I plan on using this tomorrow.
First of all, my buddy Mike (aka, Bobakett/Surly Duff) made notice of these.
1) WSJ certain things that the core console can not do, but never stated they COULD do them, with the installation of additional software or the purchase of an Xbox360 accessory. Mike takes notice of that here, and actually has the email he wrong to the journalist that reported that story.
2) In conversation, Mike stated that the WSJ said that stores have reported that they are not receiving shipments until next year. Well, that is false. Robbie Back has stated that on a weekly basis, Microsoft will be shipping out new consoles.

Engadget ran a story, about just how safe is the Xbox360? From the looks of it, they think it is VERy safe. I guess what J Allard said was right, it WILL be hard to modify
Read it at Engadget.com
(just to let you know, I do NOT endorse any modification to the Xbox360 or any of its peripherals. If anything is modified for visual or performance purposes Microsoft will not perform support in it).
The launch team, which has worked VERY hard and did a GREAT job, got a special edition Xbox360. If you arent on the launch team, you aren't getting one. So if ya see it on ebay, it will probably be fake.
Anyways, trixie posted pictures of hers. Man, am I jelous. I am still waiting for mine. It should arrive at my house (Long Island) today, and hopefully my mom ships it out tonight.
I wanted to see how I actually set this up for my blog.
Little tidbit of information: The initial guitar rip in "Sweet Child 'O Mine" by Guns N Roses, was actually a joke by Slash, that everyone liked (Source: VH1's Behind the Music: Guns N Roses).
Not many people know what Major Nelson looks like, and it is a good thing.
Major on vacation on the east coast, went into an Ebgames...and got some surprising information. Information that he KNEW was wrong.
Read his post.
Actor Pat Morita, best known for his character, Mr. Miyagi, in the "Karate Kid", has passed away at the age of 73.

Pretty much, Ynos is fake, but doesnt work for MS.
He talks about how people defend Microsoft there. I do, and I wont say what my name is on that site...lets just keep it secret. But Dvorak, I dont beleive, knows how the "popularity" (or hatred) of his site came about. He commented on Major Nelson's blog, saying he is fake and this and that. So, when you go to an Xbox blog, and call out the blogger as fake...what do you expect to happen?
Ok, so you probably know it is fairly large. There are reasons for it.
John Porcaro has the reason for the increase in the size of the powercord.
Also, another MVP, Mike/Bobafett/Surly Duff has a comparison shot of the Mac Mini powercord, and the Xbox360 powercord.

Thanks Mike!
Ok, just thought of this. Now...this is not an actual power-cord. It is actually a power supply. So, think of that large box in your PC, and put that in the casing. That is what you have.
Well...it has released. Sorry I didnt post about it sooner, was providing support (basic) in the forums all day today. But you probably knew it released.
So, lets start off with a definition of "rootkit":
rootkit
A rootkit is a type of malicious software that is activated each time your system boots up. Rootkits are difficult to detect because they are activated before your system's Operating System has completely booted up. A rootkit often allows the installation of hidden files, processes, hidden user accounts, and more in the systems OS. Rootkits are able to intercept data from terminals, network connections, and the keyboard.
So, they complain about people "stealing" their music, but they will just infect their PCs with items that can compromise the security. Should I tell them that 2 wrongs don't make a right?
These are a couple of google hacks. They are intended to check the "health" of your blog.
Thanks to Nick Wilson @ Performancing.com for these "doctor tips"
They do it with the Macy's 4th of July Fireworks spectacular. It seems some Christmas enthusiast has done it with his christmas lights. It is simply amazing.

Just wanted to shoot this out there. We are less than 11 hrs from launch when I write this post (currently 1:15 am on the east coast).
There is alot of info flowing out of there...well, just good stuff I should say. Check out Trixie's Blog for Pix, or Major Nelson's blog for more info.
John Porcaro's blog as well. He should have some good stuff.
If you want to see the "behind" the scenes of a Zero Hour attendant, check out my buddy Neda's Blog.. He is another Xbox.com MVP that was lucky enough to go. You can all see him in an Xbox.com video as well. Check Neda Out (Should start playing)..
Better yet, I have a better idea. Here, it should be streaming right here. (I hope Xbox doesnt get mad at me...heh).
I cant embed audio and/or video?
Some Lucky MVPs were able to go the Xbox360 Zero Hour launch event.
My good buddy, Neda, is already talking about his experience. Another MVP DirtyDiva will be discussing hers as well. (Gotta find her blog link...).
John Porcaro...he just has a bunch of info on the Xbox360 (and some Zero Hour construction pictures). I hear he is a big support of the MVP program. I LOVE that! Thanks John.

I traveled to North Carolina this weekend, with the Syracuse Swimming/diving team, for a meet at the UNC Chapel Hill Campus. I did well, and qualified for the Big East Championship.
I didn;t bring my computer, cause I didnt want to bring ANOTHER bag. So, I come home today, to 7 hotmail emails, 92 gmail emails (and 10 spam), and 19 yahoo emails (addition 15 spam). I just look at the list of emails, and it is so daunting (sp?). I just cant...ugh, read it. Just too much.
Not only that, I moderate for the Official Xbox.com forums (Xbox360 launch TUESDAY!!!!). You don't notice how much activity goes on behind the scenes with us moderators. I know its a tease, but, we discuss a alot and MAN and I behind! I may just ask for a review.
So...thats it. Wanted to toss this out before I go grab a bite to eat. I'll have alot of things to discuss (somethings I see, read). I will also be discussing some Xbox happenings with the product launch and the launch party among us. Post in a few.

Some people will be allowed to say this now. A town (I am not exactly sure where, announcement wednesday) has renamed itself "Dish" after the proposition put forth by the Satellite provider Dish.
Details at Dish
More info at HDbeat.com (I dont take responsibility for the sexual jokes at the end)
John Porcaro ,
Xbox Marketing, is against him. Every conscious gamer is against him. I think almost everyone is against him. Why, because he is fake. Yes,
Ynos is fake. Gamerandy had a nice little email conversation, that showed his lack of credibility.
Take a gander
