Fascinating - compare the real person to the Avatar...
"Whether it's in Second Life, World or Warcraft or EverQuest, one photographer has made it his mission to document the virtual worlds of gamers alongside the real. Robbie Cooper talks to NEWS.com.au about his latest book, "Alter Ego", a collection of images documenting gamers and the characters they have created."

Some are quite similar to their alteregos...
And some are simply inspiring. This young man, apparently, has muscular dystrophy and plays via an onscreen keyboard. In the "old days" his world would have encompassed a hospital or asylum room somewhere... now he can live vicariously through his avatar, and I say good on him.
