  • Entity Framework Petition

I feel I need to respond to the “ Vote of No Confidence ” on the Entity Framework. I have little interest in petitions. They are by nature backwards looking. To get a group of people to sign onto something they have to either understand it or be driven by the charisma of the leaders. In this case, I...

  • Blog update

Apologies for the recent blog outage. The msmvps.com server had some issues , and has been updated with recent patches etc at the same time. There's one downside with this - my blog URL included "jon.skeet" and the server now doesn't like blog names with dots in, so links to old articles...

  • Moving to www.shcherbyna.com

I always wanted to have an own domain, hosting mail, blog and probably some important files for me. However, I always felt the leak in time, and this direction was non primary for me. Until today. As you probably have mentioned, the server msmvps.com (which is hosting http://msmvps.com/blogs/v_scherbina...

  • I'm Sorry, I Haven't a Cluestick

Unless you've listened to I'm Sorry, I Haven't a Clue , the BBC Radio 4 "antidote to panel games" which was chaired by the recently departed (and much missed) Humphrey Lyttelton , this post may not make a lot of sense to you. That's not intended to guarantee that it'll make...

  • Back home again

Today I got back home after a week of vacation in France. We have been camping in the Alsace and Lorraine region. Although the weather was not perfect all the time, it is always nice to be out for a while. So now I am going to catch up with the email and the forum.

  • Gosh Folks...

...I can't believe how long it's been since I blogged. Life has a way of plowing over the bandwidth to do so. Tonight was the season wrap-up for the CMAP Certification Study Group. We had a really great season. This time we had two tracks - Business Intelligence and ASP.NET. At our final meeting...

  • Scheduling tasks via a batch file: where am I?

One of the things that comes with configuring software for a controlled environment is that every single thing involved has to be documented. Some people fail to realize what this means. It means that my installation cannot contain a trivial phrase like 'Add xyz.exe to the scheduled tasks, and have...

Tent ... check, sleepingbag ... check, cooking equipment ... check, pans ... check, .... As you can see everything is ready to go on vacation now. Only have to put it in the car and then we'll head in the direction of France to go camping for a week. So no internet for the next week and thus no forum...
