  • Secure Navision... :-)

My co-worker once started NAV and ... the problem was on all forms and dialogs within NAV. It was very secure Navision, nobody was able to read any data on the screen... ;-) After closing and starting again, all was OK (it seems that the default font size on all forms and dialogs was VERY BIG).

  • Replacing Loaded Assemblies

Recently I’ve been asked if it would be possible to replace the assemblies loaded by a .NET Windows Service application while it was running like with ASP.NET . Like with ASP.NET, an application start and end events where needed. The solution is quite simple. The Windows Service application is just a...

  • Access Based Enumeration (ABE)

Neither the concept, nor the implementation are new-so why blog about it? Well,it seems that ABE received a lot less attention then it should have. Most networked operating systems will allow you to share information, and based on your permissions you will only be able to “see” the resources that you...

  • www.microsoft.com on Hyper-V

There is nothing better then dogfooding to prove that you believe in your product. I stumbled upon a post on the Windows Server Division Blog describing the process of moving the microsoft.com website to Hyper-V: http://blogs.technet.com/windowsserver/archive/2008/06/25/microsoft-com-powered-by-hyper...

  • UC practical demo

I stumbled upon a video that demos the abilities of Microsoft UC. It looks at it from the lighter side by building upon the plot of the “Devil Wears Prada”. I found this demo to be one of the better demos I have witnessed, it simply shows how technology can be used to help day-to-day tasks without adding...

  • Entity Framework Petition of Vote of Non Confidence

I had intended to be happy simply being a signatory of ADO .NET Entity Framework Vote of No Confidence. But, there's people suggesting signatories of this petition are wackos or on the fringe. Do yourself a favour and read the petition . Read what we have issues with and how we think Entity Framework...
